Darts Betting at MONOPOLY Casino & Sports

Hit the mark with darts betting at Monopoly Casino & Sport. From the World Championship at Ally Pally to Premier League nights across Europe, the sport has never been more competitive, or more interesting to bet on.

This guide covers everything you need: the markets, the tournaments, the key terms and how to get started. Whether you're new to darts betting or looking to sharpen your approach, it's all here.

How to Bet on Darts at MONOPOLY Casino & Sports

Getting started is straightforward. Create an account, pick your market and place your bet. Here's how it works step by step:

  1. Create an account - all you need to do to get started is set up to your account. You’ll need to provide a valid email address and a few personal details. The whole process takes minutes.

  2. Choose an event - now that you have an account, you can start browsing different dart events. That could be a World Darts Championship or Premier League Darts match, or something completely different.

  3. Choose your market - each match has its own markets and outcomes that you can bet on. These include who will win outright as well as individual leg results.

  4. Select stake - choose an amount you're comfortable wagering and that sits within your budget.

  5. Review & confirm - check your selection, your stake and the terms of your bet before confirming. Once it's placed, you're in.

Play Smart With Our Darts Betting Tips

A well-placed bet starts with good preparation. Here's what's worth keeping in mind before you commit to a market:

First, make sure to do your research before choosing a market. Analyse recent performances and consistent checkouts to see who’s in form and who isn’t. You can also see if certain players perform better earlier or later in a match so that you can back them for a specific leg.

Understanding the terms of every bet you place is non-negotiable. Know exactly what you've staked, what outcome you're backing and what the settlement criteria are. Only ever bet with money you can comfortably afford to lose and never place a bet you don't fully understand.

What are Are the Popular Types of Darts Bets?

Darts has a surprisingly deep range of betting markets. Here's a breakdown of the most popular ones and how each works:

Match Winner

This market is exactly what you’d expect. You’re betting on the outright winner of a match. Choose either player to win the most sets and win overall. Keep in mind darts betting tips like checking individual player form before doing so.

Highest Checkout

Wager on which player will achieve the highest score to win an individual leg of darts. The maximum possible checkout is 170, achieved by hitting treble 20, treble 20, and bullseye.

Most 180s

In darts, the highest possible score with three darts per turn is 180. This is achieved by hitting triple 20 three times. You can bet on which player will achieve a 180 score the most times in a match of darts.

King of the Oche

King of the Oche (KOTO) is a betting market which is separated into three distinct sections. Here, you are betting on a player to achieve three outcomes in a match: win the match, hit the highest checkout, and score the most 180s. The nature of this bet means it has longer odds than other bets, as well as the potential for greater payouts.

Total Legs

In this bet, you are predicting whether the total number of legs in a match will be under or over a specific number set by the bookmakers. For example, if there’s an under/over of 7.5 legs, you can bet whether it will have more or fewer than this. There are usually multiple options to choose from with this market.

Nine-Darter

A nine-darter is perhaps the most impressive thing a darts player can achieve. It is considered ‘the perfect score’ in a game of 501 darts, often achieved through the traditional route of two 180s, followed by finishing on 141 by treble 20, treble 19, double 12 (although there are other ways to achieve this).

Outright Tournament Winner

This is a bet on which player will lift the trophy at the end of a given tournament. Whether it's the PDC World Darts Championship or Premier League Darts (we’ll explore these in more detail later), you can choose which player is most likely to beat everyone else and be crowned the champion darts player of that year.

How Darts Betting Odds Work

Every market comes with odds attached. Those odds tell you two things: the implied probability of an outcome and what you stand to collect if it lands. Here's how to read them:

Longer odds indicate a lower probability of an outcome occurring but carry a greater potential return. Shorter odds reflect a higher probability of something happening, with a more modest payout to match.

Odds are displayed either as fractions or decimals. Fractional odds (e.g. 4/1) show your profit relative to your stake. Decimal odds (e.g. 5.00) show your total return including your stake. Both formats are telling you the same thing, just expressed differently.

Take a player priced at 1/3 (1.33 in decimals) to win a match. A £10 stake returns £13.30, which means a £3.30 profit. Knowing how to read both formats means you can move between markets confidently and always know exactly what you're backing.

Major Darts Tournaments for Your Diary

The darts calendar runs year-round with some of the most-watched events in the sport. Here's a breakdown of the major tournaments you'll find at Monopoly Casino & Sports:

PDC World Darts Championship

Perhaps the most prestigious of all the major darts tournaments, the PDC World Darts Championship is held annually from mid-December to early January at Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally) in London. A total of 128 players compete for the Sid Waddell Trophy. It is a single elimination set-based format (501) that generates millions in TV revenue.

PDC Premier League

Eight of the world's best players compete across 17 weeks from February to May, with matches held at venues across Europe. Every Thursday, all eight players compete in a straight knockout format over best of 11 legs.

Points are awarded based on finishing position: five for a win, three for a runner-up finish and two for a semi-final exit. The player with the most points at the season's end advances to the Play-Offs.

UK Open

This is often referred to as the ‘FA Cup’ of darts, as it has an open draw format where 160 players, made up of PDC tour card holders and amateurs, all compete in a straight knockout competition. It takes place at Butlins Minehead resort, usually around March each year.

The top 32 players in the PDC rankings enter at the fourth round, with amateur qualifiers working through the earlier stages to earn their place in the draw.

World Matchplay

This is a professional darts competition that is held at the Winter Garden in Blackpool. It features 32 of the best darts players globally, where players compete in ‘legs’ rather than sets. Each player must win by 2 clear legs.

PDC World Masters

Often referred to simply as ‘the Masters’, this tournament was first introduced in 2013 and has been held at Arena MK in Milton Keynes since 2015. The participating players are chosen through the PDC Order of Merit, which ranks players based on the prize money won in PDC ranking tournaments. There are an additional eight players from the qualifying rounds to compete in a full 32-tournament.

It is a four-day set-play format that is the best-of-3 legs per set. The final is best-of-11 sets or first to six.

The WDF World Cup

This is an international darts tournament that is organised by the World Darts Federation (WDF). It is a major global event that features different national teams that compete in single matches, paired matches and overall team points for men, women and youth.

It was first established in 1977 and is held in various countries every two years. Points are scored depending on how the players perform in different events. The national team with the highest number of points at the end of the tournament will lift the trophy.

Finding the Best Darts Betting App

A good darts betting app puts the full tournament card at your fingertips, and should be fast, intuitive and easy to navigate. Here's what to look for:

  • Interface: it should be clean and responsive, working just as well in-play as it does pre-match. You shouldn't have to hunt for a market when the action is live

  • Tournament coverage: the major events should all be there. PDC World Championship, Premier League Darts, UK Open and beyond

  • Payment options: straightforward, trusted methods for deposits and withdrawals with no unnecessary friction

  • Responsible gambling tools: deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion options should be built in as standard, not buried in a settings menu

The Monopoly Casino & Sport app covers all of the above, so once you’ve downloaded it on either iOS or Android, you have everything you need to roll into the action.

All About Live Darts Betting

Darts moves fast. Momentum shifts leg by leg and the market moves with it. That's what makes in-play betting on darts particularly compelling.

Live darts betting lets you place bets while a match is in progress, with odds updating in real time to reflect what's happening on the oche. You can also cash out an existing bet before the match concludes, receiving a return based on the current state of play at the point of cash out.

Now that we’ve covered all the basics of darts betting, you can get started with making wagers across multiple tournaments. If anything’s still unclear, we’ve compiled a list of the most common key darts terms you should know, so you know what they mean whenever they come up.

Accumulator (Acca)

One bet made up of multiple single bets. For example, you can bet that a player will win a match and get the most 180s at the same time. Every aspect of the bet must occur for it to pay out.

Bullseye

The bullseye is the centre point of the dartboard. This consists of an outer ring (outer bull) worth 25 points, and an inner ring (inner bull) worth 50 points.

Against The Throw

This is when a player wins a leg of darts, despite not having the advantage of going first.

Checkout

Finishing a leg of darts by hitting a double. For example, if a player needs 40 left, this is typically ended on a double 20 (may also be done by a single 20 and double 10).

Handicap Betting

A bet offered by many bookmakers to make the match more competitive. It gives players a virtual head start or deficit to level out the playing field. For example, if a player has a significant advantage, they might have a handicap of -2.5 legs at the start of the game.

First Nine Average

A statistic that measures how well a player is performing based on their first nine darts of each leg, often used to assess fast starters.

Oche

The line that players must stand behind when throwing a dart.

Best of Legs

A format of a darts match where the winner is the first player to reach the majority of legs.

Best of Sets

Used in major darts tournaments such as the PDC World Darts Championship, where players must win a certain number of sets (made up of individual legs).

What darts markets can I bet on at Monopoly Casino & Sports?

Match winner, most 180s, highest checkout, total legs, King of the Oche and outright tournament winner are among the markets available across the PDC World Championship, Premier League Darts and more.

What is King of the Oche betting?

A three-part market: back one player to win the match, hit the highest checkout and score the most 180s. All three need to land. Longer odds reflect the precision required, with a higher potential return to match.

Can I bet on darts in play at Monopoly Casino & Sports?

Yes. Live markets include next leg winner and next scoring options not available pre-match. Cash out is also available, letting you take a return before the match concludes.
